Skunks
Typical Damage/Nuisance Caused:
Digging and making their dens under decks, sheds, and houses.
Spraying their strong musk scent near human living areas when startled,
mating, or attacked.
They also tear up yards for grubs and other insects.
They are one of the top carriers of rabies in Michigan.

Quick Facts:
A skunk can spray 5-6 times in a row, and at a distance of up to 15 feet
to defend itself.
The skunk scent which most people smell is normally from a distance.
This is nothing like being directly sprayed. The spray can affect more
than just the nose; the eyes and throat can be irritated if in or around
direct contact.
Skunks are members of the weasel family.
FAQs

1) How do I get rid of skunk smell if I or my property have been sprayed?

Here is a formula that we use developed by a chemist:
32oz of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)
1/4 cup of Baking Soda
1 TSP of liquid soap (dish or laundry soap)

Mix ingredients together and apply to sprayed area. The key is to get the liquid on the
actual sprayed area; this formula is not an air deodorizer. DO NOT STORE ANY LEFT
OVER FORMULA IN A SEALED CONTAINER! The formula creates gas bubbles and will
cause a container to expand and burst. An ozone machine will help remove the skunk
smell inside of a house (we have professional grade machines for rent and sale).
